Independence Day events in Louisiana

This year as we celebrate our nation’s 240th birthday, be sure to attend at least one of these Independence Day events in Louisiana.

  • Fort Polk Freedom Fest. On July 2nd at Headquarters Field at Fort Polk, enjoy live music, food, vendors, inflatable’s, and more at the annual Freedom Fest. Gates open at 5pm and the event is free and open to the public. Headlining the event will be the Charlie Daniels Band, and fireworks will end the night.
  • Independence Day Festival. Head north to Shreveport for a grand festival along the Shreveport riverfront on July 4th. This event will include a motorcycle run, apple eating contest, pushups for charity, country music star Josh Turner, the Louisiana Steak Cookoff, and so much more. Like above, there will be fireworks at the end of the night.
  • Red, White, Blue & You. Head south to Lake Charles for another Independence Day spectacle. There will be a street parade, entertainment at the Lake Charles Civic Center, food, fun, and of course fireworks. The event will be held on July 4th from 6pm to 9:30pm
