If you’re on the lookout for a hot new car to welcome the warm weather with in a few months, consider the all-new 2017 Fiat 124 Spider. Cars.com recently named it the Best New Convertible for 2017.
Cars.com wrote, “Look at this thing: It’s pretty. Next, drop the top, rev the engine, listen to the sweet 1.4-liter engine, find a twisty road and see if your cares disappear with the wind. We’re betting they will, and that’s why the Fiat 124 Spider is our Best New Convertible of 2017.”
The 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo four-cylinder engine delivers 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. It can be had with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission.
Making it a great convertible is its easy-open top combined with thrilling performance and sleek Italian styling. The new 124 Spider pays homage to the original and delivers this exciting vehicle to a new generation of drivers with technology and safety features for the modern era.
Buyers will appreciate advanced available safety features including a ParkView rear backup camera, Rear Cross Path detection, and Blind-spot Monitoring. Other desirable features include Bluetooth connectivity and FIAT Connect.

Fiat Chrysler’s new marketing campaign is a bit risky: the automotive giant is inviting comparison between its cars and some of the fastest vehicles in the galaxy. While the 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger Hellcat SRT can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds, it probably can’t make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.
Why compare the Hellcat to the Millennium Falcon? Because Fiat Chrysler has teamed up with Disney to create Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep Star Wars commercials, that’s why!
In the first ad, a black Dodge Viper leads a fleet of white Dodge Challengers down the street to the tune of John Williams’ classic “Imperial March” music, much like Darth Vader leading an army of Storm Troopers:
There are some nice little moments for Star Wars fans in the video, including the pedestrian on the sidewalk who is dressed like Han Solo and carrying a lap dog that bears more than a passing resemblance to Chewbacca.
Another ad puts the Star Wars action, with Tie Fighters and X-Wings battling each other in space, before the camera pulls out to bring things a little closer to earth:
All in all, there will be seven 30-second commercials that FCA will be airing in the run-up to the December 18th release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. To find out more about the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles you have seen in these videos, stop by 171 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram today!
